Shaheed Zulfikar Ali Bhutto Institute of Science and Technology (SZABIST) is a fully Chartered Institute established through a Legislative Act of Sindh Assembly (Sindh Act No. XI of 1995) and is approved and recognized by Higher Education Commission (HEC), Pakistan, as a degree granting institution. SZABIST has signed articulation agreement with the University of South Wales, UK. Television, India.
SZABIST today is identified as a major university comprising of five campuses (including one foreign campus) three diploma centers, three intermediate colleges and one research center. Over 5000 degrees have been awarded by SZABIST to date.

27, 28, 29 & 30 March 2014
- 27 March – Concert
Opening Night of ZAB Media Festival in association with Sindh Endowment Fund March 27 at 8pm at Alliance française de Karachi
(Tickets will be available from March 15 at Afk and SZABIST)
Highlighting the folk traditions through music, this would be an opening to our media festival featuring renowned folk musicians such Akhtar Chenar, Jai Ram Jogi(murli player), and Mai Daie(folk singer from that)
- 28 March – Expo
Photography Competition/Exhibition – March 28 at 6pm Alliance (Open to public)
This is an event that would give student photographers a platform to participate and compete against each other. Industry professionals will choose best photographs. The exhibition of selected photographs will be held at the Alliance française de Karachi gallery for two weeks.
- 28-29 March Screenings (at Szabist)
Film Screenings in association with Raindance and 7th Sky Entertainment 3pm on March 28 & 29 at SZABIST (Open to public)
Selected films will be screened at SZABIST.
- 29 March – Nuit de la pub – Night of the Ad – From 8.00 pm at Alliance française de Karachi.
How would you fancy spending the whole evening watching nothing but commercials? It may sound like the unlikeliest entertainment format ever invented but Night of the Ad is insanely popular : four-hour screening where the audience will have the perhaps dubious pleasure of seeing over 200 ads.
The screening will be introduced by Anne Saint Dreux, founder and executive director of “La Maison de la pub” (The Ad’ House) in Paris.
- 30 March – Closing Ceremony – 8:30 pm at Alliance française de Karachi (By invitation only)
The participants from competitions in film, photography and advertising held during the festival would be invited to the awards night also known as the closing ceremony to be held at the Alliance Francaise de Karachi.
The folk theme would once again come to life with dance and musical performances and award distribution to the winners followed by dinner.
