Francophone week 2014 in Pakistan

In March, the Francophonie celebrations are back!

Every year the French language and cultural diversity are celebrated throughout the world by French-speaking communities. The purpose of National French Week is to increase our community’s understanding and appreciation of the francophone world by finding interesting and entertaining ways of looking at how French touches our lives as well as learning about the dozens of countries and millions of people who speak this beautiful language.

Did you know that French is officially spoken in 33 countries? That number is second only to English, which is officially spoken in 45 countries. In fact, French and English are the only languages officially spoken across five continents.

While more than 128 million people speak French fluently, and use it on a regular basis, they speak the language with different dialects and enjoy different foods, arts and culture. The diversity among French speakers and their francophone countries is dynamic and amazing to experience, cherish and understand. That is why the Alliances Françaises of Karachi, Lahore and Islamabad will host the annual Festival de la Francophonie in March to celebrate with conferences, plays, movies, exhibitions, music, etc. French language and culture around the world – right here in Pakistan!

This year again, join us for some great events to celebrate everything French and Francophone!

From 15 to 23 March 2014, a week of events celebrating the French language all around the world. Detailed program in Lahore, Islamabad and Karachi on AF websites :
